An Act of Parliament (Act No. 10 of 2014) and notification on March 5th, 2014 designated the Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University as an Institute of National Importance under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE). Our country's second Central Agricultural University was founded and given its name in honour of Rani Lakshmi Bai, a heroic freedom fighter known as the warrior queen of Jhansi who gave her life on the altar of independence. The university's goals are to teach students about many aspects of agriculture and allied sciences, conduct agricultural research, run extension education programmes, and foster connections with local, national, and international educational institutions.
