North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST), Itanagar has been ranked among the top engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

As per the NIRF 2021 rankings, NERIST has been ranked as follows:

• Overall: 132
• Engineering: 87
