In order to advance Vedic education and research, the Government of Andhra Pradesh founded the Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU) in 2006.

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, developed the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) to rate higher education institutions in India based on numerous criteria, including teaching, learning, research, outreach, and inclusivity.

Sri Venkateswara Vedic University (SVVU) was ranked in the overall category of the NIRF rating for Indian universities in the 151-200 range in the NIRF 2021 ranking.

Vedic studies and research are supported by faculty and infrastructure at SVVU, and the institution is dedicated to fostering their expansion and advancement. The university's efforts to deliver high-quality instruction, research, and outreach initiatives in the area of Vedic literature and history are reflected in the NIRF ranking.
