Birla Institute of Technology (BIT) Ranchi is ranked among the top engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings released by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In the latest NIRF ranking released in 2021, BIT Ranchi was ranked 35th among engineering institutions in India. However, it's worth noting that the NIRF ranking is based on the performance of the entire institution, which includes all the campuses of BIT, and not just the Ranchi campus.

BIT as a whole has consistently been ranked among the top engineering institutions in India by NIRF, and is widely regarded as one of the premier institutions for higher education in the country.
