In 1969, it was split into the University of Kashmir in Srinagar and the University of Jammu in Jammu, two separate universities.The University of Kashmir is located in Srinagar's Hazratbal neighbourhood. On its eastern and western sides, respectively, it is bordered by the renowned Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake. Three sections make up the university's main campus, which spans 247 acres of land: Hazratbal Campus, Naseem Bagh Campus, and Mirza Bagh Campus. The University has purchased additional land at Zakura, close to the main campus, to support future growth. The Campus' serene atmosphere offers the ideal setting for rigorous study and research.
