Sher-e-Kashmir Shalimar, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India is home to the institution of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, an agricultural institution.The university has various campuses, institutions, research, and extension centres spread throughout the Kashmir Valley and Ladakh Union Territory, with its main campus and Faculty of Horticulture located in Shalimar, Srinagar. The campus for the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry (F.V.Sc & A.H.) is in Shuhama, Alusteng, Ganderbal, while the Faculty of Agriculture (FoA) is in Wadura, Baramulla.

A law issued by the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature in 1982 established the institution. It was given that name in honour of Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, also known as the Lion of Kashmir and the leader of Kashmir.

With its main office in Shalimar, Srinagar, the university once had jurisdiction over the whole State of Jammu and Kashmir. The agricultural education, research, and extension training units from several development departments, including agriculture, animal husbandry, sheep husbandry, and sericulture of Jammu and Kashmir State, were moved to SKUAST when the SKUAST Act went into effect.
