Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU) is a public state university located in Amravati, Maharashtra, India. The university was established on May 1, 1983, and was named after Sant Gadge Baba, a social leftist and saint from Maharashtra who devoted his life to the upliftment of the poor and crushed. 

SGBAU is honoured by the University Grants Commission( UGC) and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an "A" grade.
