Purnea University  

Purnea University is a collegiate public state university located in Purnia, Bihar.Purnea University was established on 18 March 2018 after bifurcation from Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University, Madhepura. This University was notified in the Bihar Gazette (Ashadharan) on 17 August 2016 under the University Act of Bihar State (BSU Act 1976). And hence it is called Bihar State University Amendment Act 13, 2016

The name 'Purnea University is derived from the name of a district of Bihar. That name is Purnia district. Purnea University comprises more than 33 affiliated colleges and more than 13 constituent colleges, some of which are engineering, management, B.Ed, and medical institutions. The university has many facilities like a library, sports, complex, information center, IT center, alumni service, etc.
