About Nirma University 

Nirma University  

Nirma University (NU) is a multidisciplinary university located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF) was established in 1994 by renowned industrialist and philanthropist Dr. Karsanbhai K Patel, founder of Nirma Group of Industries, to promote higher education and provide excellent educational facilities to the youth in India.

In the year 2003, the Government of Gujarat approved the proposal of NERF for the establishment of Nirma University, Ahmedabad. Therefore, the University Grants Commission (UGC) established the Nirma University under Section 2(f) of the Act passed by the Gujarat State Legislative Assembly duly recognized the University.

Nirma University offers UG, and PG courses like B.Tech, Institute of Management, Doctorate, Pharmacy, Post Graduate, Doctoral and Postdoctoral, Pharmaceutical, M.Sc, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology, etc.

In January 2023, the Government of Gujarat accorded the status of Center of Excellence to this Nirma University. Nirma University has recently been awarded an A+ grade in the third round of re-accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
