As the State of Telangana was formed, the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences Act was adopted, and the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences was founded with its administrative headquarters at Warangal. First Vice Chancellor Dr. B.Karunakar Reddy was appointed by G.O.Ms No. 99 HM&FW Department. (Cl) dated 26.11.2015. All required clearances have been secured from the Indian Nursing Council, Central Council for Indian Medicine, Central Council of Homeopathy, and Medical Council of India under the capable leadership of Secretary and Hon. Ch. Laxma Reddy, respectively. University of Health Sciences began operating in a modest, renovated building in the fall of the 2016–17 academic year.
