In Hyderabad, Telangana, India, in Masab Tank, lies the Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University (JNAFAU), a school of architecture and fine arts. School of Planning & Architecture and College of Fine Arts are two of JNAFAU's colleges that provide a variety of undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD research programmes, with a focus on two distinct schools. The "College of Fine Arts" was created by the former Hyderabad State in 1940.

Courses including architecture, digital techniques for design and planning, facilities and services planning, interior design, and planning, among others, are offered in the school of planning and architecture.

Courses in painting, applied arts, photography, animation, sculpture, and other media are available at the College of Fine Arts.

The College has gradually grown in stature to become the "Government College of Arts and Architecture" and is now managed by the Department of Technical Education, Government of Telangana, Hyderabad. The College of Fine Arts had its beginnings as a "School of Arts and Crafts" to promote art and regional crafts.

The College joined with the university to form Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University in October 1972, becoming a Constituent College of the JNT University. The Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University was split into four separate institutions, namely JNTU Anantapur, JNTU Kakinada, JNTU Hyderabad, and JNAFAU, Hyderabad, all of which were founded under A.P.
