Rajendra Prasad, M.D. Previously known as Rajendra Agricultural University, Central Agricultural University is a public institution that the Indian government has designated as an Institute of National Importance. It is situated in Pusa, in the Bihar district of Samastipur.

Rajendra Prasad, M.D. The first Imperial Agriculture Research Institute in India was the forerunner of today's Central Agricultural University (formerly known as Rajendra Agricultural University).On 1 April 1905, Lord Curzon lay the cornerstone for the Agricultural Research Institute and college with the help of American donor Henry Phipps, Jr. Lady Curzon, the wife of Lord Curzon, the Viceroy of India, and the daughter of an American businessman, Phipps, were family friends. The viceroy had stated in his speech that he had faith that the seed he was sowing would soon bear fruit, turning Pusa into the hub of agricultural endeavours, research, and education that would benefit not only Bihar and Bengal but the entire nation as a whole and draw the brightest minds from within and outside of the country. He expressed his sincere expectation that the institution would be of great assistance to the Bihar Planters Association in their dire hour of need brought on by the German Indigo scientist during a separate meeting with them.
