Andhra University  

Andhra University (IAST): Andhra Visvakalaparishat) Which is a public university and it is located at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The University was established in the year 1926. It provides all types of undergraduates and Post-graduates.

King Vikram Deo Verma, the Maharaja of Jeypore was one of the biggest donors of the AU University. The King donated lands and two million rupees for the establishment of the university which was set to be shifted elsewhere later by the education authorities due to lack of funding. The Jeypore college of Technology and Sciene in Andhra University was founded by Maharajah Vikram Deo later in this university.

The Andhra University emblem was designed by Sri Kowta Rammohan Sastri with the guidance of Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy. The lotus in the emblom is the seat of Goddess Lakshmi and Saraswati.
