Under Phase-II of the Pradhan Mantri Sawasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), the AIIMS Raebareli (AIIMS) in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, received approval in February 2009 at a cost of Rs. 823 crore. 148 acres of land were to be provided by the state government. On August 13, 2013, a Gazette Notification was published to announce the opening of the AIIMS Raebareli in Rae Bareli. Of of the 148 acres that had already been agreed upon, the Uttar Pradesh government transferred 97 acres to the federal government in July 2013 for the construction of AIIMS Rae Bareli. M/s HSCC (India) Ltd. was selected by the Ministry.
