A medical college and public university located in Bathinda, Punjab, India, is known as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bathinda (AIIMS Bathinda). It runs independently under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as one of the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences. The 177 Acre AIIMS Bathinda campus is spread out over a wide area and is bordered by parks with rich greenery. In November 2016, a foundation stone for Bathinda's AIIMS was set. AIIMS Bathinda was envisaged as a 750-bedded medical institute on 177 acre site comprising 10 speciality, 11 super speciality departments and 16 operation theatres. The medical college will have 100 seats, and the nursing college will have 60 seats. It was one of the six AIIMSs to open in 2019, and it began operations with the first class of 50 MBBS students.
