CUET Exam

The Ministery of Education (MoE), the Government of India (GOI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) which is an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier test organization that has been introduced under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for the conduction of this test in an efficient, transparent and also following the international standards tests in order to assess the competency of the candidates for taking admissions to premier higher education institutions.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been given the charge in conducting the Central University Entrance Test (CUET) for the Post Graduate (PG) programs and Undergradtion (UG) Programmes for 2022.

Central University Entrance Test (CUET), for admission to different types of programs and Courses of the participating Central Universities. It will provide a single window opportunity to the candidates and students to seek admission to all the participating Universities / Institutes across the country.

 

History of CUET

CUET was first called CUCET and it was the first time conducted for admission to seven central universities for 1,500 seats in 41 undergraduate, postgraduate and integrated courses from 2010. The application forms were first filled through the CUCET-2010 which was held on 19 and 20 June 2010 in about 30 examination centers spread all across the country.

From its first inception in 2010 till 2020, the CUCET test was conducted by the Central University of Rajasthan for 12 Central Universities.

After that, the National Testing AGency that is (NTA) or Nta CUCET took over the conduct of these exams in the year 2021. In 2022, as a part of National Education Policy 2020, CUET or you can call NTA CUET is introduced as a revamped version of CUCET making it compulsory for all the 45 central universities to adopt it.

This is how CUET Exams were rolled out and started conducting the entrance exams for the Central Universities.

EXAM Pattern and Structure

All the question papers are MCQ based and are organized into different parts.

 

For UG Programmes

As per the latest CUET updates 2022, the CUET entrance test 2022 will now be conducted having four sections:

 

  • Section IA - 13 Languages

  • Section III - General Test

 

The CUET 2022 consists of a language test, domain-specific papers, and a general test for regular subjects. Candidates can opt for a combination of almost 2 languages and 6 domain-specific subjects or 3 languages and 5 domain-specific tests. CUET entrance test 2022 will be conducted in two slots this time. The duration given for the first slot is 45 to 195 minutes and the duration for the second slot is 45 to 225 minutes.

The marking scheme includes 1 mark for each correct answer and there will be a negative marking of one-fourth for each wrong response or answer given.

CUET PG will have more than 72 test papers for various courses which are offered by the Universities. The complete mapping of the test paper code versus courses and University is provided by the NTA in their information brochure and you can check that on their official website.

 

For RP Programmes

 

Part A: Language, general awareness, mathematical aptitude, analytical skills, and Research Methodology-consisting of 50 MCQs

 

Part B: Domain Knowledge-consisting of 50 MCQs

 

Negative Marking

For the UG and PG Programmes, there will be a negative marking scheme followed by a deduction of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. That is a 4/1 ratio to be followed. However, the negative marking is not followed for research programs.

As you have seen in the above table that the NTA CUET 2022 is to be conducted from July 15 to July 20 and From August 4 to August 10, 2022. Cuet 2022 is organized for UG admission in the central and state-level universities including private and deemed to be colleges too.

There will be 44 central universities, 12 state universities, and 11 deemed and 19 private universities will be accepting the criteria of the CUET 2022 and accept admission to candidates for 2022-23 academic sessions.

To date, there have been 9,50,804 candidates who have registered for admission into 86 Universities out of which there are 43 central universities, 13 state universities, 12 deemed universities, and 18 private universities to those the candidates have applied for. Students are likely to take tests in any of the 13 mediums which have been offered and can select any combinations out of 33 languages and 27 unique subjects.

One candidate has applied to more than 5 Universities of his choice on average and there are more than 54000 unique combinations of subjects chosen by various candidates in the CUET Exam 2022.

CUET 2022 Eligibility Criteria

There are many universities that are participating in the CUET 2022 and each university has different criteria for the eligibility for candidates to be a part of their course program. There are mainly three types of courses offered by CUET 2022 and most of the candidates apply for that courses more.

The candidates can apply for programs such as UG, integrated Pg, and research programs. CUET 2022 Reservation

As CUET is the Medium to take admission to the UG Courses at the Central Universities, each university has to follow the norms set by the Government of India. Candidates belonging to different categories are entitled to reservations of the seats for CUET 2022 admissions in different courses and participating central universities.

By knowing CUET 2022 reservation criteria, candidates get to know various benefits of the reservation system including comparatively low application fees, low cut-off marks, and also course/admission fees is low compared to the General category.

How to Claim Reservation in CUET 2022?

 

To Claim Reservation in CUET 2022 first of all every candidate has to fill out the CUET application form 2022, which requires them to fill the multiple details regarding you and your education and also includes the category they fall in, candidates must select the option according to their category.

Candidates are not required to provide any category proof at this stage. But if a candidate put an invalid category or missed the dialog box of a category or might select the correct reserved category, the authorities will not accept further claims for any reservation.

When you have cleared the CUET at the time of CUEt counseling 2022, candidates shall be required to provide legit documents, including the caste and category certificate. If by any means the candidates fail or forget or filled wrong during application to require their category certificate then the candidate will be treated as an Unreserved category.

How to fill CUET Application Form 2022?

 

Candidates who are looking to fill out the CUET Application Form 2022 must follow the Below-mentioned steps to fill the Application form 2022 CUET:

 

Step 1: Visit the official website of CUET cuet.samarth.ac.in to fill CUET Application form 2022 and click on the ‘Apply online’ tab or option to register for the program.

 

Step 2: After clicking the option, candidates will be able to see three program options on their screen that are - UG, PG, and RP. Click on the link for which you want to apply for.

 

Step 3: Complete the registration process by entirely filling in the details like the program you want to apply for, name, valid e-mail, mobile number, date of birth, residential address, and the verification code displayed on the screen.

 

Step 4: Once all details are submitted, there will be a mail sent to your e-mail address with the application number and the password to you.

 

Step 5: Use the application number and password to log in which was sent to you on your mobile and e-mail id and fill up the CUET Application Form by entering the log-in details such as personal, academic qualification, or degree details and communication address.

 

Step 6: After this process, the candidates are required to upload scanned images of their recent passport-sized photograph and signature in the prescribed format and dimensions asked by the NTA CUET form.

 

Step 7: Select the examination centers according to your preference and select and enter the exam centers.

 

Step 8: on your successful submission of your online CUET 2022 application form with payment of fees through an automated e-mail and SMS is sent to the Candidates registered mobile number and e-mail ID.

 

CUET 2022 Form Correction

The NTA has opened the CUET 2022 Form correction facility for the already registered candidates and the new candidates to fill up the form. Candidates can edit a few details which are mentioned in their application form. The Candidates can edit or cancel their already applied or selected exam centers if they wish to change their exam centers to the newly added exam centers because NTA has decided to add 2 new exam centers to their list of exam centers for the CUET 2022 Exam.

 

CUET 2022 Admit Card

 

The admit card for CUET 2022 will be released online on their official website on the given date. The registered candidates can download the CUET admit card 2022 from the official website of the CUET which is nta.nic.in or cuet.samarth.ac.in. The candidates can download their CUET Admit card anytime before their examination. On the day of the examinations, the candidates can carry their admit card of the CUET 2022 along with a valid photo ID of themself.

 

  • CUET 2022 Admit Card of an applicant will be sent to his/her CUET registered email ID and link to their registered mobile no to download. Download and print the admit card.

 

  • The admit card will be available for the candidates who have successfully registered for the CUET Exam.

 

  • Details present on the admit card will be including exam center, roll number, exam date, timing, instructions, etc…

 

  • Admit cards are mandatory to be carried by the candidate on the day of the exam

CUET 2022 Exam Pattern

 

CUET 2022 Exam Pattern details for the UG program are mentioned below:

 

  • Type of question: Only Multiple Choice Questions will be given in the
    Examination.

 

  • Section I: Section IA and IB will be containing Language specific and related questions. These MCQs can be optional and can be based on the Reading Comprehension passage

 

  • Section III: This section consists of 60 questions from General Knowledge, Current affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, and Quantitative Reasoning.

 

  • Duration: The duration of Section I - 45 min, Section II- 45 minutes, Section III- 60 minutes

 

  • Exam Mode: The mode of the Exam will be a Computer-based test.

 

  • Level of Questions: the level of the questions asked in CUET will be based on class 10+2 difficulty level.

 

CUET 2022 Answer Key

 

CUET 2022 final answer key for the courses of UG and PG programs will be rolled out online in the third week of July 2022. The last date for raising the objections against the answer key is to roll out by the team of NTA laterally when the final answer key is released online.

CUET 2022 Results

 

The expected date of the CUET Result 2022 is to be released in the third week of June 2022 and the list will be in the form of a scorecard. If you like to check the CUET 2022 result, the students and candidates are required to enter their roll number and their date of birth on the login page of the CUET website. The 2022 CUET scorecard contains the details like candidate’s qualifying status, rank, sectional, and overall marks.

  • Shortlisting Process: Shortlisting of the candidate and result will be done on the basis of the performance of the CUET 2022 applicants and on basis of scores obtained in qualifying examinations.

 

  • GD/PI: Some concerned universities conduct further processes of admission after the process of shortlisting, they are called for Group discussions and Personal Interviews.

CUET 2022 Merit list

 

The Universities which would be participating in the CUET 2022 will be releasing the merit list. The merit list will show the eligible candidates for the Counseling which will be based on the cut-off marks and rank of the candidates. Candidates must also note that the minimum marks mentioned for similar subjects will be different for different participating universities.

The candidates whose name is on the list of CUET 2022 merit list for the different programs must make sure to attend the online/offline counseling procedure conducted by the participating university.

CUET 2022 Counselling

 

CUET 2022 Counselling merit list will be released through the online mode. All the Universities conduct their own counseling process separately for different academic programs which are offered by that university. After the result is announced the candidates will be required to attend counseling in order to complete the document verification and admission processes.

The counseling will be not for everyone it will be only for the shortlisted candidates. You should keep in mind that the counseling for participating universities is done separately by the respective counseling community of each university. Students are allotted seats during counseling and the process of allotment for seats for CUET 2022 will be purely based on the candidate’s rank and availability of seats for the preferred course of the candidates.

Counseling of CUET 2022 is strictly based on the merit list and the merit list is listed by the no of marks obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam. The process is carried forward by the marks scored in written tests and interviews with the weightage of 60% and 40% respectively. Note that the candidates, who qualify for NET/JRF/SLET/ Teacher Fellowship will be exempted from the written test.

For such students and candidates, the interview will carry 100% weightage for selection. Universities from different states: Central University Common Entrance Test is commonly known or referred to as CUET. The Universities in states like Tamil Nadu, Jammu, Jharkhand, Kashmir, Haryana, Kerala, Punjab, and Rajasthan jointly conduct this entrance exam and is available for students all over India.

The test is for those students who are willing to take admission into the graduate level, PG level, and Ph.D. level courses at the above Mentioned University and many other state and private Universities. 

 

CUET Counselling Procedure

 

There are various steps in the CUET Counselling 2022 procedure and we will discuss them in the below sections.

 

  • Every Central University that participates will create its own merit list with their courses offering, which will be posted on the University’s website.

 

  • The availability of the seats will be determined by the candidate’s ranking in the CUCET 2022 exam.

 

  • Candidates who have been shortlisted in the merit list have to register themself for the counseling on the official website.

 

  • The Counselling will be conducted in two stages: Online and Offline

 

  • After the counseling, the selected candidates must pay their admission fees to the universities in order to secure their seats in the course program.

 

Documents required for CUET Counselling 2022

 

For the verification process of CUET 2022 Counselling, the qualified candidates must bring the following documents during their counseling.

 

They must bring their original and one photocopy of the 10th, 12th, and all semesters of the degree course (if any are required for your course) marks sheets as well as CUET 2022 results.

 

  • Aadhar Card, Voter-ID and Passport are all acceptable forms of identification.

 

  • Migration Certificate: Both the original and a photocopy of the migration certificate are required for counseling.

 

  • CUET 2022 Admit Card Proof: Bring a color printout and photocopy of the admit card.

 

  • Passport size photo ( 5 in number) must be brought which is taken in recent and signature as same during the exam time.

 

  • Original and photocopies of the caste certificate are required if applicable.

If you want to be eligible for participation in a university’s CUET 2022 counseling procedure, a candidate must meet the university cut-off.
